Cabinet Door Collage

Scrap cabinet doors are a great find to use as a base for putting together picture collages. I found some great tutorials and inspiration over at A Thousand Words and The Creative Crate.

The ReStore is a great place to find cheap cabinet doors that are usually in great condition.
This one I found for $5!

Mod Podge is a girl's best friend! Use your sponge brush to coat a thin layer on the glass. Try to keep the size of Mod Podge to the size of the picture. I went over the size a bit and needed to wipe the excess off. Its not the easiest to remove when its completely dried so be sure to wipe away any excess while its still wet.

Place your picture directly on the paste. Let it completely dry. Brush a thin layer over top of each picture. Let completely dry.

I had let over curtains from Ikea that I also used for the Frame Within a Frame project. Its great to use with it being so stretchy and light. Place your fabric on the back of the door and staple in place.

I added a painted black text from Michael's Arts and Craft Store with my glue gun.
{Another one of girl's best friends}

I choose to off center it to the left.
Completely centered look to heavy and deliberate.
I love the contrast it gives against the white cabinet.

I LOVE the way it turned out.
It holds pictures of my girls in their own personal moments.
Cherished and loved.

Pottery Barn Pillow Inspiration!

I have a confession.
I love pillows.
Small pillows.
Large pillows.
Throw pillows.
You catch my drift.

Confession number two.
I also love obsessed Pottery Barn.
No really. I know. Its incredibly hard to resist.

When I found this pillow cover at the local thrift store for $2, I scored.
I mean, scored!

That is until I realized it was not Pottery Barn!
Could have fooled me!
It sure does look like one of theirs, doesn't it!
It reminded me of this one!
 and these ones too!

And the one behind mine....the one that looks like a shag rug.
Also thought it may have been Pottery Barn.
I still don't know....there was no tag.
Do you know?
I love them together on my comfy chair.
One side says Happiness, the other says Bonheur.

Did you know that the striped chair is my $10 Kijiji find?
Also a great score!

I am thinking of changing up the pillow by adding some fabric here, ribbon there.

It needs depth and texture.
As much as I look at it, it needs something more!

{This weekend is the one for DIY for the pillow!}
Check out these other ideas of DIY pillows from other fellow bloggers!

Fabric Choices for Master Headboard

I spent the day yesterday checking out fabric choices for my master bedroom headboard I am making!
I wanted something modern yet simple.
Nothing that screamed,'look at me, I'm over here!'

I think these choices are my favorites.
Now to narrow down the options!

Opinions! I need your opinions!
Please leave a comment below this post and let me know your favorite!

{OPTIONS}
Option 1 -Chocolate brown with heavy embroidered swirl.

Option 2 -Off grey gathered fabric in repeat pattern. This one is quite boring for color but I love the pattern.

Option 3-Satin finish with chocolate brown circle pattern. The direction is very inconsistent so it would be easy to place on a headboard, no lining up involved.

Option 4- Off grey fabric with blue embroidered pattern. This blue would match our accent wall right behind the headboard. It would take a little more detail to keep the pattern even and vertical but the impact would be worth it!

Option 5- Grayish brown fabric with cream colored embroidery. My least favorite but still in the running.

Option 6-Same as an earlier fabric choice, but different pattern. This seems a little too modern for my liking.

Option 7-Hubs favorite. Definitely not mine.

Option 8- Cream colored fabric with matching embroidery color.
